Surprisingly all 4 series ended in only 2 games with 2 underdogs coming through which means I was able to profit on my Wild Card bets. However, I did lose a few futures bets. Let’s see where my bets stand right now.

Graded Bets:

Arizona Dbacks to win Wild Card Series +165 – Won $165

Toronto Blue Jays to win Wild Card Series +118 – Lost $100

Miami Marlins to win Wild Card Series +165 – Lost $100

Texas Rangers to win Wild Card Series +140 – Won $140

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Atlanta Braves +2000 – Lost $100

Toronto Blue Jays win series 2-1 +285 – Lost $100

Total Profit: Risked $600 / Lost $95 = -16%

I likely wouldn’t have risked a full unit on the 20/1 bet, but oh well, grading things this way can add some more challenges to my regular handicapping. I can always break them out later if I need to.

Division Series Pricing and Analysis:

Baltimore Orioles (-110) vs. Texas Rangers (+100) – No bet in this series

Houston Astros (-150) vs. Minnesota Twins (+135) – This is a bet on the Twins

Los Angeles Dodgers (-210) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (+195) – Dbacks are an easy bet at this price

Atlanta Braves (-175) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (+164) –

Baltimore Orioles – They have two starters that are some of the best in baseball and a decent bullpen, but it isn’t the best. I worry about their ability to score runs consistently.

Texas Rangers – They have slightly worse starting pitching than the Orioles, slightly better offense, and the bullpen is about the same. The price in this series seems correct.

Houston Astros – Great starting pitching, Strong bullpen, and great at scoring runs. This is the best team in the American League.

Minnesota Twins – The best starting pitching left, each starter is better than Houston’s. Their offense is far less, but with their pitching they could make a run. Bet the Twins.

Los Angeles Dodgers – Their starting pitching and long relief is problematic, and their offense isn’t good enough anymore to make up for it.

Arizona Diamondbacks – I like them to beat the Dodgers, but they won’t go any further.

Atlanta Braves – They have the best pitcher, the best bullpen, and the best offense. I think they are the best team left.

Philadelphia Phillies – I don’t think they will make it by the Braves, but I am invested enough in the Braves already so I won’t make any more bets here.

Assuming my picks are all correct the matchups next round would be :

ALDS – Baltimore Orioles vs. Minnesota Twins – I would take the Twins to win this series

NLDS – Atlanta Braves vs. Arizona Dbacks – I would take the Braves in this Series
